How to play
Each round
- Setup — the host shares the room link; everyone joins with a name. The host sets the mafia count and any optional roles, then starts the game to deal everyone a secret role.
- Night — eyes closed. The app narrates each role's turn; when it's your turn and your role can act, make your choice on your phone. The mafia secretly pick someone to kill while town roles use their powers.
- Daybreak — the app announces who was killed overnight, if anyone. Talk it out — in person or over voice — to work out who the mafia are.
- Vote — tap a player to vote for the lynch, or Abstain. Counts stay hidden until the host reveals; a lynch needs more than half of the living players on one target.
- Repeat — night and day alternate until one side wins, then every role is revealed.
Good to know
- Goal — the town wins when every mafia-aligned player is gone; the mafia win once they outnumber the town.
- Your role is secret — only you (and your fellow mafia) know it. See the roles below for what each one does.
- Changing your vote — tap another player to switch, or tap your current pick to retract. Abstaining still counts as having voted.
- Hosting — the host drives the day (reveal votes, finalize, start the next night) and plays the narration aloud for the table. Enable audio when prompted.
Roles
Town
Wins when every mafia-aligned player is gone.
- Villager — no night action; relies on the day's discussion and vote to find the mafia.
- Detective — each night, investigates one player and learns whether they're mafia. Can't check themselves — and a clean result isn't a guarantee: the Consort (and a Yakuza that has already recruited) read as "not mafia."
- Doctor — each night, protects one player (including themselves); a protected target survives an attack that night. The save is silent — you only know it worked if your target lives.
- Vigilante (optional) — has a single bullet for the whole game; on one night may shoot one player, or hold fire to keep the bullet for later. A shot the doctor saves still spends the bullet.
- Tracker (optional) — wakes last each night and watches one player, learning who that player visited (or that they stayed home) — but never what they did. Watching any mafia member reveals who the mafia targeted. Can't track themselves, and the Consort can distract them.
Mafia
Wins once they outnumber the town (or in a final one-on-one). Bare parity isn't enough — the town can still vote back.
- Mafia — each night the mafia secretly agree on one player to kill (whoever locks a target first decides it). Immune to the Consort's distraction.
- Consort (optional) — each night, distracts one player, blocking their action. Doesn't know the other mafia (and reads as "not mafia" to the Detective); wins with the mafia, and takes over the kill if the mafia are wiped out.
- Yakuza (optional) — a mafia member who may instead, once per game, recruit a townsperson into the mafia — forgoing the kill that night and sacrificing themselves to do it. The sacrifice can't be prevented — not even by the doctor.
